Artist Illustrator Painter
My work is fueled by a love of classic children’s book illustrations, music, film, nature, and the creative process. I’m drawn to the often-unsung splendors of our planet and enjoy inviting wonder, storytelling, imagination and delight. I work primarily in pen and ink, watercolor and graphite, and enjoy pushing scale, color and textures to playfully link animals and insects with our human experience.
Additionally, I am a contributing Art-o-mat® artist, which are retired cigarette vending machines, artfully restored and converted to vend small works of art. They are installed in a wide variety of venues throughout the United States and beyond.
My home studio is based in Greensboro, North Carolina where I work and reside with my filmmaker husband Stephen and our three cats, Obi-Wan, Kylo Ren and Gypsy.
